Why Manchester City cannot appeal potential sanction - Fabrizio Romano

Manchester City suffered a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, leaving them 5 points behind Arsenal, and were unable to close the gap over the weekend.

Harry Kane's first-half goal against Pep Guardiola's team caused Tottenham Hotspur to hand the Pep Guardiola team their third loss of the season in the Premier League.

Despite trailing Arsenal in the Premier League standings by five points, Manchester City has suffered yet another setback due to financial fair play.

If Manchester City is found to have violated financial regulations, they risk losing their chance to win the English Premier League.

After a 4-year investigation, City has been accused of a number of violations; if found guilty, they could result in point deductions or even expulsion from the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano can confirm that City cannot even appeal any potential EPL sanctions to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport), which was the body that overturned their UEFA ban a few seasons ago.

Man City, for their part, is said to be "surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League rules," but they appreciate the investigation and look forward to concluding the matter.
