Edu Gaspar, the sports director of Arsenal, may complete a three-year transfer quest by signing Jonathan David, a striker for Lille, this summer.

In a recent interview, the Canada international made a suggestion that he would join the Premier League after this season.

Arsenal is attempting to sign the ideal Competitor to Gabriel Martinelli as Edu targets a £53 million summer move.

Jonathan David, 23, has scored 19 goals and created 4 assists for Lille in the Ligue 1 current season.

The 23-year-old could be an ideal player for Mikel Arteta given his young squad.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will hope to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table with another win over Fulham. 

The Gunners travel to the Craven Cottage this Sunday at 3pm GMT kick off.
