Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) nominee for president, has warned the spokespeople for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga and Femi Fani-Kayode, over alleged inciting remarks against Igbos in Lagos
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Public Information, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said that their words were an indictment of his principal, who had failed to denounce the violence two days after the polls.
According to Atiku, the Nigerian constitution gives every citizen the right to vote and be elected regardless of tribe, gender, or religion.
He said that Tinubu had gone back and undone some of Nigeria's advances toward democracy.
As part of his criticism of Tinubu's campaign, Atiku also demanded that the National Broadcasting Commission punish TV and radio outlets that continue to allow Peter Obi of the Labour Party for interviews that put doubt on Tinubu's legitimacy.
Atiku applauded the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), a rights organization, for suing the Federal High Court to prevent the NBC from suspending broadcast station licenses.
