A Spanish court has decided that a 48-year-old woman will receive 204,000 (roughly $215,000) from her ex-husband as payment for performing unpaid housework during their marriage.

Ivana Moral, who requested a divorce from her ex-husband in 2020, will receive a monthly pension of €500 (roughly $528) from him, according to iNews and the Spanish-language newspaper El Pais.

According to the outlets, a judge in Málaga determined the pension's total amount based on the couple's 25-year marriage and the minimum professional monthly wage.

Their two daughters, who are now 20 and 14 respectively, have been ordered to receive payments from her ex-husband, who was not identified in the court decision, of €400 (£356) and €600 (£533), according to iNews. He will probably make an appeal.

According to Moral, she "exclusively" managed the household chores during their marriage, according to EuroNews.

She also claimed that during that time, her ex-husband "accumulated and exponentially increased his assets," and she was unable to pursue her own career due to "her exclusive dedication to the home and family," according to the outlet.

As opposed to this, according to iNews, Moral's ex-wife established a successful gym business that allowed him to make expensive purchases.

According to the outlet, Moral claimed that when their daughter turned 16, her ex also refused to pay for one of their daughter's academic expenses.
