Cristiano Ronaldo was pictured smashing water bottles in frustration after his side's defeat in the Saudi Arabia pro league.

After losing his first league game in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo threw a number of bottles in rage.

After his Al-Nassr were defeated 1-0 away at title rivals Al-Ittihad, the 38-year-old former Manchester United player had a major meltdown.

While a teammate tried unsuccessfully to calm him down, Ronaldo did give his fans a round of applause before storming off the field, raising his arms in the air and kicking a pile of plastic water bottles.

He suffered his first Saudi Pro League loss as a result, and Al-Nassr dropped to second place, one point behind Al-Ittihad.

The Portuguese forward, who signed a staggering £173 million contract, scored eight goals in four games in February to win player of the month honors.

However, he was unable to end the impasse tonight.

In the 80th minute to secure the victory, Brazilian striker Romarinho swept in the game's lone goal from inside the box.

Only ten minutes earlier, he had a volley cleared off the line.

In the moments following the goal, Ronaldo was seen on camera with his hands on his hips and a very angry expression on his face.

In stoppage time, the former Real Madrid player managed to get his lone shot on goal, but he was unable to put the Al-Ittihad goalkeeper to the real test.

He then stormed out of the tunnel while still making frantic gestures.

Al-Nassr was eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup by Al-Ittihad, handing Ronaldo his first Middle Eastern loss since his shocking transfer in January.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was mocked by the home team's supporters prior to tonight's league match.

They yelled Lionel Messi's name once more and even urged their team to purchase Cristiano Ronaldo's fierce rival, which earned the Al-Nassr captain a wry smile.
