David de Gea is said to have turned down a contract extension offered to him by the club.
According to reports, Manchester United is getting ready to extend the contract of its Spanish goalkeeper.
De Gea's contract, under which he receives £375,000 a week, is reportedly due to end in June 2023.
But, if a new deal is finalized, it is said that the Spanish goalie would get less money than his present salary owing to stipulations.
The 32-year-old was the subject of a "decent proposition" from Manchester United, but the goalie remained unsatisfied.
According to Reportminds.com, Erik ten Hag wants the goalkeeper to remain at Old Trafford longer as part of his project as he has been rather steady for Manchester United this season.
