Granit Xhaka believes Arsenal are learning to deal with the strain of being Premier League favorites.
Granit Xhaka has spoken about the pressure his teammates face as they sit atop the EPL table with Arsenal, who are five points ahead at the top and on pace to win the league for the first time since 2004.
The Swiss star stated that, even if the Gunners are attempting to snap a 19-year championship drought, they do not always need to win spectacularly.
With possibly 18 games remaining until the Europa League final in Budapest on May 31, Xhaka argued that Arsenal had the depth of talent to fight on two fronts.
The center midfielder said that his team is also gaining the mental toughness necessary to compete at the top.
“You can see that every team is playing differently against us,” said Xhaka. “They are dropping a lot, sometimes they are pressing us as well, but this is what happens when you are top of the league. There is much more pressure than before, for sure.
"But in general, I think we are doing well. I think there is a good mentality in the team and let’s try to keep that.”
Arsenal will hope to record victory against Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon round of 16 clash.
