Leandro Trossard contributed to all three of Arsenal's goals as the Gunners defeated London rival Fulham 3-0 to maintain their championship hopes.

After a 0-0 draw against bottom-place Southampton, Manchester United further slipped behind league leaders as Casemiro was shown a straight red card in the 34th minute. West Ham and Aston Villa also played to a 1-1 tie in a 3 o'clock Premier League match.

Arsenal defeated Fulham 3-0 in the Premier League to honor Mikel Arteta's 100th victory as manager of the Gunners.

After Fulham's humiliating 3-1 defeat to West London rival Brentford and Arsenal's arduous 2-2 tie in Lisbon on Thursday, this match got off to a low-key start as both teams kept things close in the early going.

Yet, keen to continue their unbeaten record in away London derbies this season, the Gunners quickly grabbed control. Antonee Robinson turned Gabriel Martinelli's low ball into the net, but the defender's face was saved when VAR disallowed the goal for offside.

The disallowed goal gave the visitors motivation to try and maintain their league-best away record, and the floodgates opened when Gabriel Magalhaes firmly headed Trossard's corner into the goal.

After Martinelli's close-range header of Trossard's drifting cross, the Gunners increased their advantage. Trossard was once again the catalyst. Before the interval, one-way traffic continued as Martin Odegaard curled into the bottom corner after controlling Trossard's ball with his left foot.

A possible comeback appeared improbable since Fulham had only earned one home point all season against clubs in the Premier League above them, and the Cottagers' first opportunity came with 20 minutes left when Aleksandar Mitrovic's header struck the crossbar.

That turned out to be Fulham's last chance to get back into the game as Arsenal held on to victory with minimal resistance from the home team.

After a three-match losing skid, Fulham provided little resistance to Arsenal's barrage of goals in the first quarter, and Marco Silva's team may no longer be in the running for European football next season.

Trossard's inventiveness served as the catalyst for an utterly professional Arsenal performance, but the defense also contributed to the team's ninth away shutout and 11th road victory of the year.
