Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, met with Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, on Tuesday night.
Bala landed at the Port Harcourt state capital's Omagwa international airport.
The governor of Bauchi State traveled to Wike's private house in Port Harcourt after leaving the airport.
The specifics of their meeting, however, were not made public at the time this report was filed.
The conference will take place when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leadership are in the throes of a crisis.
Remember that the Igorov ward executive committee in the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State dismissed the party's national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, on Sunday for suspected anti-party actions and for failing to pay his membership dues.
The Benue court prohibited Ayu from impersonating the party chairman after the ban.
Conrad Utaan, a former advisor to Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, had brought the lawsuit.
In the lawsuit submitted to the Benue court, Ayu and the PDP were placed as the first and second respondents, respectively.
A hearing in the matter has been scheduled on April 17.
The turmoil roiling the biggest opposition party may have nothing to do with Wike and Mohammed's meeting.
