Manager Graham Potter claims that Kai Havertz has taken Jorginho's place as Chelsea's new penalty taker.

In January, Jorginho transferred to Arsenal for €11.3 million. The midfielder burned through four-and-a-half-years at Stamford Extension, showing up. In a Blues uniform, he scored 29 goals and took 27 penalties.

Potter stated in a Monday evening press conference, "In the absence of Jorginho, Kai [Havertz] is our penalty taker."

This season, Havertz has made 32 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing one assist.

Potter spoke to the media prior to the Champions League second-leg match against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday in west London.

If Chelsea wins the second leg by the same margin, the match may go to a shootout because Dortmund is only ahead by 1-0 overall.

“The players are always practicing penalties,” Potter said of the possibility of the tie going into penalties. We are prepared for the eventuality and possibility [of a penalty shootout].”

The Blues will kick off against Dortmund tonight at 9pm GMT in front of their fans at the Stamford Bridge.
