"He called him on the phone" - Kai Havertz shares what Jorginho told him before leaving Chelsea for Arsenal

Kai Havertz, a star for Chelsea, has explained how he learned that Jorginho was leaving the club to join Arsenal.

Jorginho was then the focus of Mikel Arteta and Edu, and the Italian joined the Arsenal for £12 million on transfer deadline day.

Jorginho seized the chance when it unexpectedly presented itself to him to join Arsenal. It occurred so rapidly that his close friend Havertz was just made aware of it via phone call.

According to the German, The Guardian: “I played with Jorginho for two and a half years, he changed next to me, I loved being with him.

“And then, he calls me one evening and says: ‘I’m gone.’ I was like: ‘What the? How is this possible?’

“This is how quick things change. It’s a human thing. You just have to accept it, it’s football.”

In practically every game he has played, the Italian has shown exceptional talent. He is a strong replacement for Thomas Partey, and Arsenal has already benefited from his expertise in the center of the park in getting out of some tight spots.

After suffering an injury while on international service, Partey is a major question mark for the match against Leeds United on Saturday. Jorginho may be given another opportunity as a result, and he is more than capable of filling the position of midfielder.
