Before Arteta retired from playing and pursued a career in coaching, the duo dominated the Arsenal midfield for the entire five years he was a member of the team.
Ramsey said: “You could see his leadership qualities and the way that he handled himself was second to none.
“What he is doing now, definitely, you could see he was always going to be a manager one day, the way he thought and saw the game and how intense he was as well.
The recently appointed Welsh captain Ramsey and Arteta, 41, who received his coaching credentials from the FA of Wales, discussed the esteemed academy.
He added: “It is absolutely unbelievable what he has done there, what they are doing at the moment.”
Ramsey, who is now on the field for Nice in France, said it would be "absolutely amazing" if his previous team, Arsenal, won the Premier League championship this year while Arteta was in charge.
