Erling Haaland is a teammate of Julian Alvarez's who plays for Manchester City. Erling Haaland supports a different team.

Haaland, a Norwegian striker, has had an incredible impact on City since joining them in the summer of last year for £51 million from Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old City star is the overwhelming favorite to win the Premier League Golden Boot this season after tallying an incredible 27 goals in 25 league games.

Both Haaland and Alvarez are optimistic about winning significant hardware with City as Pep Guardiola's team is closing in on Arsenal for the Premier League title.

Alvarez, who joined Haaland at the Etihad in the summer, won a significant trophy with Argentina at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in December.

Alvarez was surprised to learn that Haaland was interested in Argentine football, as the forward, now 23, had previously played for River Plate, his childhood club.

Alvarez says that Haaland supports Boca Juniors, River Plate's rivals, and that he thinks former Dortmund player Leonardo Balerdi may have influenced him.

“Beyond what we all know about football, Haaland is a good boy,” he told Argentine TV channel TyC Sports.

“He helps me, we talk and from the outside, I try to look at him to learn.

“Since I arrived, he told me that he was for Boca and told me about La Bombonera.

“I think he was with Leonardo Balerdi in Borussia Dortmund and that was a bit of an influence.

“Let’s see if we change it little by little, it’s going to be difficult but we’re going to try.”
