The departing Bayern Munich manager was close to the players, according to the 28-year-old midfielder, and the team's shock at the club's decision to fire him was shared by the rest of the group.
Bayern have said that firing the coach was not a "easy choice" and that they had to act in response to a string of unsatisfactory games and outcomes.
It was indicated that Julian Nagelsmann and other seasoned players had a falling out in the locker room.
Leon Goretzka, though, rejected the allegations and said that he got along well with the former RB Leipzig coach.
Goretzka says : “I didn't have any problems with Nagelsmann. I don't know how it was with others — but I can say that he didn't lose the dressing room”
“The news of Julian sacked was a shock! We [players] were all surprised”
Thomas Tuchel, a former manager of Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, has been chosen to succeed Nagelsmann as the club's next manager. Tuchel has signed a deal with the team that extends until June 2025.
On April 1, Thomas Tuchel will coach Bayern Munich against his old team, Dortmund, in the Bundesliga.
