With a significant increase in injuries, Arsenal will face Sporting CP in the Europa League round of 16 matchup.

It was reported that three Arsenal players missed the training session this afternoon ahead of their trip to Portugal.

According to popular sport journalist, Charles Watts, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard and Kieran Tierney missed the training.

Although, Gunners have been gathered that boosted with the return of Gabriel Jesus who was one of the people who trained on Wednesday morning at London Colney in preparation for the European match on Thursday.
Mikel Arteta is putting his team through its paces as the Arsenal prepare to face a team that finished last in the Champions League after a disappointing season.

Arsenal plays Sporting CP in Portugal on Thursday in the Europa League round of 16 matchup. Mikel Arteta's team has been practicing at London Colney in advance of the game.

During the Gunners' initial training session on Wednesday morning at London Colney, Jesus was seen escorting Thomas Partey onto the field. The Brazilian returning in a thick black jacket, gloves, and snood will be a welcome sight for Arteta ahead of an important part of the season.

Gabriel Jesus, who finished paperwork for Munititions stockpile from Manchester City in the late spring, is said to have missed the World Cup since he harmed his knee while playing for Brazil in Qatar. The fact that Jesus is currently training with the rest of the team in the first team may indicate that he will return to match day action soon. Arteta and Arsenal had been attempting to avoid providing a timetable for Jesus's return.

Arteta had a few notable absentees even after Jesus resumed training. Due to their absence from training, Eddie Nketiah, Kieran Tierney, and Leandro Trossard are not anticipated to play against Sporting CP on Thursday.

Goal journalist Charles Watts has been talking about some of the people who weren't able to attend the Gunners' training session today in a YouTube video shot from the Arsenal training facility.

As expected, Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah did not train ahead of the Europa League game against Sporting because they continue to battle groin and ankle injuries. However, there was an unexpected notable absence.

In point of fact, Watts asserts that Kieran Tierney was absent from the training session, and the journalist initially questioned the reason for Tierney's absence.

Watts, however, stated that Tierney was ill and missed the session after some confirmation.

According to Chris Watts:

“A few absentees. No Kieran Tierney, I’m not sure why yet. No Trossard and no Nketiah, two players we know are suffering from injuries at the moment, Nketiah with an ankle problem and Trossard with a groin problem he picked up against Bournemouth at the weekend. It doesn’t sound like that’s the worst injury, so hopefully he’ll be back soon, but you’re not going to take any risks ahead of the game on Thursday night,” Watts said.

“A little bit more of an update that we’ve got. Kieran Tierney wasn’t involved in training today and he won’t be flying with the squad. It’s not due to injury, it’s due to illness I’m told. It’s a blow to him because this is a game we expected Tierney would have started.”
