Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and his wife Sara have had their first child.

According to reports, the German player became a father on Wednesday evening when his wife gave birth to their first child, Kais.

Gundogan is going to be left out of Hansi Flick's Germany team owing to the birth of his kid, according to Reportminds.com.

Hansi Flick will lead the German national team in March friendly against Peru and Belgium.

Gundogan would not be part of Germany's forthcoming team, but the cause was supposed to be Sara's pregnancy, rather than poor performances in Qatar.

Sara, the Manchester City captain's wife, came to Instagram to inform her fans and followers of the news.

Gundogan and Sara married in 2022, with Sara's pregnancy announced five months later in November.

The Manchester City midfielder gave birth to his son, Kais, barely a day after his team defeated RB Leipzig 7-0 (8-1 on aggregate) in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg.

Meanwhile, Gundogan's teammates were eager to congratulate him on his first-time fatherhood.
