PSG player and Brazil international Neymar provided an update on his injury situation. 

It's been gathered that the PSG star had undergone a successful surgery from the ASPETAR hospital bed in Doha.

If you recall that Neymar was carried off in tears after PSG defeated Lille 4-3 in League 1.

The Ligue 1 powerhouses were on the verge of conceding a home loss to Lille at Parc Des Princes when they fell behind 3-2 late in the contest. However, Kylian Mbappe's late brace and Lionel Messi's stoppage-time free kick turned the game around.

While two of PSG's lethal and expensive front three sparkled in the match, Neymar had a difficult day. The painful ankle injury forced the international player from Brazil to leave the field on a stretcher.

Neymar, 31, may start for PSG against Bayern Munich in the Champions League second-leg match at Allianz Arena, according to a prior report on his injury, but he won't play in the following two Ligue 1 games.

Christophe Galtier, the PSG manager, expressed particular hope for Neymar's quick recovery from the injury.

A medical evaluation of Neymar's injuries and consultation with the doctors revealed that Neymar requires extensive ankle surgery and would miss the duration of the 2022–2023 football season, dealing a significant blow to PSG and the team.

According to a statement from the team following the injury, Neymar will have ligament surgery at the ASPETAR Hospital in Doha and be out for three to four months, thereby shutting him out of the rest of the season.

PSG did not want to take a chance, though, given the player's history of right ankle injuries. Despite the drawback of losing the forward for the remainder of the season, the surgical procedure was chosen as the safer choice.

With the shock of the injury, Christophe Galtier was forced to alter his customary three-man assault with the three lethal forwards—Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar.

Against Bayern, he used a 3-5-2 formation with only Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe on the attack.

The change in strategy had no effect on the Parisians, who fell to the Bavarians at Allianz Arena and were eliminated from the Champions League.

Neymar joined PSG in 2017 from Barcelona and has tallied 118 goals in 178 games for the team. He played 18 games for PSG this season before suffering an injury, tallying 13 goals and 11 assists.

Following the procedure, he will be out for three to four months before making a comeback for PSG the following season.
