Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, is now on a five-day working visit to Brazil as part of his worldwide campaign for the African People's Peace and Development Agenda.

While there, he visited the states of Sao Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Salvador Bahia, and Brasilia as part of his "Return To Home" campaign, announcing several measures for the reunion of the more than 100 million Afro-Brazilians.

The Brazilian National Assembly and President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva further reaffirmed their continued dedication to the Yoruba Culture and their support for the National Orisa Day, which is recognized by Brazilian constitutional law.

Ooni Ogunwusi urged the Brazilian parliament to back President Lula with appropriate legislation in his address as he called for the unification of people of African descent everywhere.

During the legislative session, Ooni and 25 African diplomats were welcomed at the Nigeria House in Brazil by Amb. Ahmad Muhammed Makarfi, the Nigerian ambassador to the nation.

The king also informally discussed the need of fostering commercial and cultural links between Brazil and Africa with President Lula Da Silva.

President Lula and his wife Rosangela Lula Da Silva were dubbed Omo Oduduwa by Ooni at the exclusive gathering in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia.

In order to further encourage trade, economics, and cross-cultural interchange between the two nations, he also asked for direct access from Nigeria to Brazil.

President Lula da Silva commended the Ooni for his love and enthusiasm for bringing together not just Africans in Brazil but all around the globe.
