Real Madrid advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League after defeating Liverpool 5-2 in the first leg of the round of 16 match.

Carlo Ancelotti will require, meanwhile, that his team maintain concentration as they attempt to finish the job in Spain later tonight.

Madrid will face the Reds at the Santiago Bernabéu in the second leg will come up at 9pm GMT on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid, who won the Champions League last season, will not take anything for granted when they face the Premier League's juggernauts, and his players will do the same.

Liverpool will do it without several of their top players, but they still think they can advance to the quarterfinals.

Former Barcelona midfielder Thiago was already absent due to injury, but club captain Jordan Henderson (sickness) and Stefan Bajcetic have now joined him there (thigh injury)

Ancelotti and his players will stay focused on the job at hand as Real Madrid strives for an unprecedented 15th Champions League title in their history, despite the injuries plaguing the Liverpool team.
