SSC Napoli comfortably trounced Torino 4-0 to take a preliminary 21-point lead in the standings.

In the Stadio Olimpico di Torino, Victor Osimhen scored twice with his head to take the Azzurri to their ninth victory in their previous 11 head-to-head matches.

After their 5-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt, Napoli, the current leaders and first-ever UEFA Champions League quarterfinalists, showed no signs of jet lag.

They scored after just nine minutes when Osimhen headed in a corner from the right by Piotr Zieliski for his eleventh goal in as many games. The score also provided the opportunity for his supplier to defeat Torino for the 13th time in 19 meetings.

Shortly after, Torino had another chance to score when Nikola Vlai, who had been badly marked, blasted a low drive from beyond the box and forced Alex Meret to make an incredible low save.

The Napoli goalkeeper had been in charge of six consecutive shutouts before to the game's start. He was quickly required to put in another outstanding performance when, although going undetected, he stopped a cutback and long shot from Samuele Ricci, and Antonio Sanabria's ensuing effort hit the goal frame.

Just over ten minutes before halftime, Napoli recovered control and was awarded a penalty after teammate #77 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was hauled down by Karol Linetty's careless tackle.

A minute later, Mrgim Vojvoda just missed an angle shot with his shot. The Georgian enhanced Napoli's lead in Turin by seizing it himself and gently shoving Vanja Milinkovi-Savi in the other direction.

Kvaratskhelia almost set up an Osimhen shot, but Milinkovi-Savi successfully blocked it low to his left to keep the score respectable.

Torino was comfortably in control when referee Matteo Marchetti blew for halftime, and any hopes of a comeback in the second half were dashed only five minutes in.

Kvaratskhelia once again played a crucial part as Osimhen scored two headed goals in a single game for the second time in 2023. He cleverly flipped the ball to Mathas Olivera on the left flank thanks to his quick feet.

It was just a matter of time until Napoli made it 4-0, and they did it with 25 minutes remaining thanks to Torino's unfortunate absence.

To put the ball in Kvaratskhelia's path, Osimhen, who by this time was moving at full speed, outsmarted two players wearing garnet jerseys.

After passing the ball to Tanguy Ndombele, who was moving forward, Milinkovi-Savi became agitated and Milinkovi-Savi enabled Tanguy to easily glide by him and finish the rout.

Consequently, Napoli took another significant step toward winning the Scudetto for the first time since 1990, and Torino was wrongly penalized by the final score of 4-0.
