Leeds United fought to a 4-2 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers in an exciting Premier League match to record their first away victory since October and, at the very least, pull themselves out of the relegation zone.

It wasn't surprising to see Javi Gracia's fired-up players spring out of the traps looking for an early lead since the West Midlands were being drenched in rain and the visitors knew time was running out if they were to escape a top-flight relegation for the first time since 2003/04. Within 10 minutes, their efforts would bear fruit as Wilfried Gnonto withstood the challenging circumstances by racing into the box and setting up Jack Harrison, who scored with ease from 12 yards.
After that blow, Wolves responded forcefully, with Nélson Semedo's pleas for a penalty being rejected before Illan Meslier needed to be astute to stop Daniel Podence from inside the box. And as a rainbow formed above Molineux, the hosts were inches away from scoring when some excellent build-up play led to pinball inside Leeds' area and Semedo's ensuing shot was stopped on the line. Gracia, with his side's fortunate leading, was likely feeling fortunate as the halftime whistle rang despite Wolves' dominating domination.
Only minutes after the second period began, Julen Lopetegui's team had a goal disallowed for offside despite continuing to dominate. Maybe their focus got the best of them as Leeds delivered a sucker punch, with the Wolves defense dozing off as Luke Ayling nodded back across the goal and into the back of the net. Afterwards, Rasmus Kristensen added a third goal for his team by slipping between José Sá's legs after breaking free in the area. At first glance, this goal seemed to put an end to the game. But maybe the weather had a role in the rather incredible Wolves goal that came a few minutes later, when Jonny lobbed Meslier from barely 40 yards after his reckless headed clearance.
During a back-and-forth finish, the visitors' dams almost burst many times until Matheus Cunha's deflected shot in the 74th minute struck the back of the goal.
While Jonny seemed to take that phrase a bit too literally when he collided with Ayling with his sliding challenge, the stadium's decibels increased as Wolves became more aggressive. Rodrigo's following red card deflated Wolves and their supporters, enabling Rodrigo to put the cherry on top for Leeds' traveling supporters with his cool-headed goal that lifts Leeds out of the relegation zone. Then, Matheus Nunes was given a red card for an altercation off the field, capping off a forgettable Wolves day.
