On Sunday night at Wembley Stadium, Bellingham played for England in their Euro 2024 qualifying match against Ukraine.
In addition to participating in the Legends game against Celtic on Saturday at Anfield, Gerrard was also there to serve as a Channel 4 analyst.
Bellingham and Gerrard participated in a Channel 4 interview after the game. Throughout the conversation, Bellingham described the Liverpool legend as his hero before praising the Dortmund midfielder.
Bellingham said: "The things that Stevie could do in terms of the teams he played in, the way he could carry a team, the way he could kind of single-handedly win a game, he could do everything as a midfielder. I’ve definitely said it multiple times I’ve looked up to you so it’s a pleasure to be stood here."
Gerrard responded: "Listen, let me tell you right now, you’re a lot further ahead than I was at your age, so you’re going in the right direction," before going on to explain his own reasoning.”
