In a Friday international friendly match in Antalya, Turkey, the Super Falcons defeated Haiti, who will compete in the 2023 women's World Cup, 2-1 thanks in part to a goal by Asisat Oshoala, who made her Super Falcons comeback.
Oshoala's most recent game for the Falcons took place in July at the 2022 women's Cup of Nations.
Desire Oparanozie, who replaced Esther Okoronkwo, the Falcons' first goal scorer against Haiti, was also back on the squad.
After breaking a streak of seven consecutive losses with a 1-0 victory against Costa Rica at the 2023 Revelation Cup four-nation invitational event in Mexico in February, the Falcons have now won back-to-back games.
Oshoala believed she had broken the scoreless when the Haitian goalkeeper misjudged a shot in the 22nd minute, but the goal was saw to the outside of the box found the back of the goal.
Oshoala made it 2-0 in the 58th minute with a goalmouth scramble after Haiti failed to clear their lines.
Haiti scored a goal with 15 minutes remaining to play after a Falcons defensive blunder.
Another friendly matchup between the Falcons and New Zealand, a co-host of this year's women's World Cup, is scheduled on Tuesday, April 11, at the Mardan Stadium in Antalya, Turkey.
Australia and New Zealand will share hosting duties for this year's FIFA Women's World Cup, which will take place from 20 July to 20 August.
