When Los Rojiblancos initially formed in 1911, they were known as Los Blanquiazules and wore a blue and white stripe. It imitated the same colors, and later change, as Athletic Club, given that Atletico was established in Madrid by Basque students.
On Wednesday, Atletico Madrid becomes 103 years old, and they have put together an outfit to honor their heritage. The badge will be restored to its former form as well.
The commemorative kit is only one of several festive activities being done to honor the occasion, including festivities, music, and food surrounding the Metropolitano on Wednesday before the game, which begins at 19:30 CEST. Prior to the game, 60,000 red and white flags will be distributed in the bleachers.
