Erik Den Hag set to sell Jadon Sancho and six other Man Utd players in the summer

The next stage of Erik ten Hag's Manchester United strategy this summer involves "a brutal squad clear-out."
United's season is starting to unravel after a strong few months as they presently sit fourth in the Premier League after losing to Newcastle 2-0.

Joe Willock and Callum Wilson both scored once for the Magpies in the second half, and they otherwise controlled the game with just one effort on goal from United.

The Red Devils' defeat was particularly painful since it allowed Newcastle to overtake them and go into third position.

With a draw against Everton on Monday, Tottenham can overtake United in fifth place despite having played two more games.
.
The Manchester Evening News reports that players like Alex Telles, Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Dean Henderson, and Anthony Martial are all expected to be made available for transfer, which looks to be Ten Hag's answer to his team's recent troubles.

Due to Jadon Sancho's issues with fitness, the manager has allegedly "grown more irritated" with him and may be ready to let the England international go.

Sancho did come off the bench against Newcastle over the weekend, but he had little effect as United only managed one chance on goal.

Old Trafford may now be in a depressing state, but the Red Devils might still be in contention for an improbable triple this year.

They have already won one trophy and have advanced to the last eight of the Europa League, where they will play Sevilla in the quarterfinals the following week. They have also reached the FA Cup semifinals.

League form is the main worry. United has gone seven weeks without scoring a Premier League goal, and even though they may still be able to hold into fourth place, the clubs around them are outperforming them.

The Red Devils' next game is against Brentford on Wednesday. This match has a sordid history because United lost 4-0 to the Bees in ten Hag's debut as manager. The Red Devils then play Everton on Saturday to cap off a busy six days.
