Erik ten Hag plans to emulate Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola's strategies in order to overhaul Manchester United next season

Erik ten Hag plans to follow in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola by making a significant acquisition that might change the trajectory of the team.
This past week, following a dreadful 3-0 loss to Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, United was eliminated from the Europa League.

Ten Hag's team sank to new lows in the rematch after United blew a 2-0 lead in the first leg to draw thanks to two own goals.

On Thursday, a misunderstanding between David De Gea and Harry Maguire resulted in Sevilla's seventh-minute goal. The Spanish team subsequently increased their advantage with a Loic Bade header, and United's humiliation was made worse by a De Gea error that allowed Youssef En-Nesyri to score twice in as many games and give Sevilla a 3-0 lead.

As Ten Hag starts the second stage of his United makeover, The Mirror reported that up to 12 senior players might be let go this summer.

In fact, it has been predicted that Anthony Martial would leave the team along with Maguire and De Gea.

Prior to Thursday's humiliation against Sevilla, Maguire and Martial were rumored to be leaving the team, but De Gea's blunder-filled performance prompted concerns about the Spaniard's status as United's starting goalkeeper.

Ten Hag wants a goalkeeper who can play the ball out from the back since De Gea's game has this obvious flaw.

The 32-year-old's contract expires this summer, but United and him are now in negotiations for a new agreement with drastically reduced terms.
