Southampton defender Jan Bednarek suffers nasty fall after Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli backs into him

Jan Bednarek is pulled off the field following a hard tumble caused by Gabriel Martinelli.

After a brutal collision with Gabriel Martinelli, Jan Bednarek was forced to leave the field against Arsenal with what seemed to be a concussion.

After the Arsenal striker backed into him, the Polish defender had a terrible tumble and reluctantly departed the field soon before halftime.

Bednarek was replaced by Duje Caleta-Car. Bednarek expressed his displeasure with the substitution to Southampton's medical staff as well as to manager Ruben Selles.

Online discussion on the fight between Bednarek and Martinelli was sparked by criticism of the Brazilian's risky behavior.

Following goals from Theo Walcott and Carlos Alcaraz, who both scored after errors by Aaron Ramsdale in the opening minute, Southampton established a two-goal lead.
