As soon as the referee blew the whistle, City appeared to be in complete control of the match. Arsenal was struggling to gain momentum.
The English defender Rob Holding had a particularly difficult time containing City's striker Erling Haaland during the game.
Keown noted that the Arsenal defense lost all of its battles with the Norwegian because Holding struggled so much, giving the impression that Haaland was getting away with it at the expense of the Arsenal player.
“If I was playing, Haaland would be all I was thinking about,’ Keown told BT Sport.
“Holding lost that battle. The very first challenge, that’s where they concede the first goal.
“You’ve got to put your marker down, you’ve got to be physical, maybe take a booking. But Haaland is just strutting around that pitch and it looked really easy at times.
“That’s something these young Arsenal defenders are going to have to learn and learn quickly,” Keown said.
