After being dismissed in disgrace by his angry Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper last weekend, JONJO SHELVEY will have to struggle to keep his season alive.
Shelvey reacted furiously after being picked as a replacement for Saturday's trip to his old club Liverpool, and Cooper lost his cool.
during realizing he had been benched for the second straight game, the 31-year-old midfielder reportedly approached the Forest manager during a team meeting.
Shelvey's sour attitude on the practice field was brought to light when he realized he wouldn't be starting against his old Anfield colleagues.
The feisty midfielder returned to practice Wednesday after not receiving a sanction for his actions.
For Forest, who only have six games remaining to rescue their season, he must struggle to reclaim his spot.
Shelvey was acquired from Newcastle United for a pittance in January, and he still has two years left on his deal.
However, the aggressive midfielder has only played eight times for his new team.
He was demoted earlier this month after his error allowed Aston Villa to score the game's first goal against Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.
Shelvey, who is injured in his calf, is reportedly questionable for tomorrow night's critical home game against Brighton, when 17th-placed Forest will once again try to escape the relegation zone.
