Kaoru Mitoma's goal against Tottenham was disallowed by VAR, leaving BRIGHTON supporters furious.
In the 16th minute of the match in North London, the Japanese winger seized a through pass from the air and shot past Hugo Lloris.
Although Brighton trailed the North London team following Son Heung-spectacular min's goal in the 10th minute, it would have been a significant goal.
Nevertheless, Mitoma's goal was disallowed because VAR determined that he had used his arm to control the ball.
Replays seemed to show that the ball struck his chest rather than his arm, and South Coast side supporters were furious with the decision.
When Cristian Romero pushed the attacker before he got to the ball, some even claimed that Brighton should have been awarded a penalty.
Lewis Dunk, a defender for Brighton, scored a goal after being left unattended during a corner kick.
Technical difficulties caused the game's start to be delayed, and before it began, the two opposing managers, Cristian Stellini and Roberto De Zerbi, seemed to be arguing on the touchline.
