It's been gathered that the contract with the 36-year-old was set to finish at the conclusion of current campaign.
Since moving to Milan from Chelsea in the summer of 2021, Giroud has been a constant, making 76 appearances and tallying 27 goals.
His fifth goal in 10 games came on Wednesday night as Milan faced Napoli in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal. The Frenchman has been in especially strong form this season. For the first time since 2006–07, Milan has advanced to the semifinals of the Champions League thanks to goals from Giroud.
He contributed significantly to Milan's Serie A championship last season, scoring 11 goals and dishing out four assists in 29 league games.
After appearing for Montpellier, Troyes, and Grenoble in his native France, Giroud previously played for Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League.
Milan will face Lecce on Sunday to begin Serie A play once again. Two points ahead of Inter, the team led by Stefano Pioli's team is fourth in the standings.
