Antonio Rudiger has shared his approach to handling tension at Real Madrid.
The aggressive center defense left Chelsea for Real Madrid last summer, and despite having trouble earning a regular spot in Carlo Ancelotti's starting lineup at the beginning of the season, he has improved greatly.
According to Transfermarkt, Rudiger has played 42 times for Los Blancos in all competitions and is still a vital member of the team as the season comes to a conclusion.
The 30-year-old said that he has created a system that aids him when asked how he has dealt with the always demanding nature of the club's supporters.
The record-setting goal scorer for Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, current club captain Karim Benzema, and mercurial midfielder Luka Modric were mentioned by the German defender as his role models for handling pressure.
“For me, it’s very simple. Because Cristiano got criticized here, Benzema got criticized here, Luka Modrić, all of them" Rudiger said as quoted by MadridXtra.
He added: "Who am I not to get criticized?”
Rudiger has said that he purposefully produced errors in games last season to enrage the audience.
If you remember, under Thomas Tuchel, the 29-year-old was a crucial member of Chelsea's defense and turned in a series of masterful performances as the Blues went to two domestic cup finals.
