Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has given his thoughts on who may replace Frank Lampard as temporary manager at Chelsea.
After Graham Potter's firing a few weeks ago, the Blues named Frank Lampard as their interim head coach until the conclusion of the current campaign.
Despite Todd Boehly's massive investment in January transfers, Chelsea are currently having a difficult season.
It has been rumored that a number of European managers, notably Carlo Ancelotti, may take over as manager of the West London team in the next campaign.
While Ancelotti, the Real Madrid head coach, claims he has no wish to return for a second stint at Chelsea Bridge, he does support Lampard in his bid for the position on a permanent basis.
Ancelotti said: “I have a fantastic memory of Chelsea. I am a supporter of the club. I won’t return there”
As you remember, the former AC Milan manager led Chelsea from 2009 to 2011, winning the domestic double before departing to join PSG.
He added:“Me going back to Chelsea as coach? No. I think Lampard is the right man and he will do a great job with them”.
When Real Madrid plays Chelsea on Wednesday night, they will be looking to defend their UEFA Champions League victory.
