Kevin Durant, a basketball star, becomes the third NBA player to accept a lifetime contract with Nike
Kevin Durant, a top basketball player, and Nike have agreed to a lifetime contract, making him just the third NBA player to do so after LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
Since 2007, the 13-time All-Star has collaborated with Nike on 15 distinct sneaker releases. A 16th is shortly to arrive.
The lifetime agreement will continue to cover footwear and other clothing, as well as other charitable and community initiatives that support grassroots basketball.
Durant, 34, transferred from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns in the middle of the season.
Together with Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton, the two-time Finals MVP helped the Phoenix Suns defeat the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
On Saturday, Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs will take place between them and the Denver Nuggets.
