Dean Smith has been named Leicester City's manager for the conclusion of the current campaign.
Brendan Rodgers was fired by the Foxes as they attempt to avoid Premier League relegation. Leicester are presently ranked 19th in the standings.

Smith's hiring was announced by the organization together with that of ex-England captain John Terry, with whom he had previously worked at Aston Villa.

Craig Shakespeare is back on the Leicester City bench as well. When the Foxes were in danger of being relegated in 2017, he staved off the threat and led the team to a UEFA Champions League Quarterfinal.

Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell, City's current first team coaches, will also be there to assist Smith in managing the last eight league games.

Prior to the trip to Manchester City on Saturday, the club announced that Smith would practice and meet the First Team team on Tuesday.

Smith's first game in command is a challenging weekend trip to Manchester City, who are vying for a treble this season.

Smith has nearly 600 games of managerial experience in football, having previously led teams including Walsall, Aston Villa, and Brentford. His last position was at Norwich City for 13 months, which came to an end when he was let go in December 2022.

Former Chelsea defender Terry worked under Smith at Aston Villa from 2018 to 2021, however he left the club before the start of Smith's last season there.
