As Manchester City easily defeated Sheffield United 3-0 to get to the final, Riyad Mahrez recorded the first-ever FA Cup semi-final hat-trick at Wembley Stadium.
Additionally, it was the first hat-trick in a championship semi-final since Alex Dawson scored three goals for Manchester United against Fulham in 1958.
After Bernardo Silva was taken down in the area by Daniel Jebbison, Man City went ahead shortly before halftime.
Mahrez won possession of the ball near midfield and was given free reign to advance. As he approached the box, he coolly slotted past Foderingham without any indication of a challenge. Five minutes later, he completed his triple.
Once again, the United defense couldn't stop the ball from being clipped in from the left by Jack Grealish.
Mahrez responded to it with a precise goal-bound shot, and although putting a touch on it, Foderingham was unable to stop it.
