Ben Chilwell, a defender for Chelsea, has made his first public remarks since their 3-1 loss to Arsenal on Tuesday.
The players, according to Chilwell, "are hurt and angry," after the Blues suffered their sixth straight defeat in the league.
As a result of goals from Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard, the Gunners quickly took a three-goal advantage.
Noni Madueke's strike in the 65th minute was only a consolation.
Frank Lampard, the Blues' temporary manager, now has six defeats from his first six games in charge.
The former Everton boss is yet to en or draw a match since he took charge as Caretaker coach until the end of the season.
After Arsenal's second goal, Chilwell, Enzo Fernandez, and Thiago Silva got into a physical altercation on the pitch as Odegaard was once again given plenty of room to turn and score.
“We’re hurt and angry, every negative emotion you could think of,” Chilwell told the club’s official website.
“It was very poor. We knew that if we came here and played like that we would have to expect to concede three goals.
“We weren’t getting tight to anyone, weren’t laying a hand on anyone. We were passive. We’re probably quite a nice team to play against which has been the story of the whole season, to be honest.”
Chelsea are currently 12th in the Premier League table with 39 points. The West London side will be desperate for points given their five games left to play.
