Man City dealt huge blow after Nathan Ake suffers injury ahead of UCL clash with Real Madrid

Nathan Ake injured himself ahead of City's crucial UCL clash with Madrid.

Pep Guardiola side will be facing Spanish side in coming three days in the UEFA Champions League semi-final match against Real Madrid.

Apparently, the Dutch defender hobbled off during the second half of their league match against Leeds.

Manchester City defeated Leeds United 2-1 on Saturday night at the Etihad Stadium.

Ake was taken to the hospital after collapsing off the ball in the 54th minute. Ilkay Gundogan scored twice to give them a dominating advantage.

Kyle Walker was sent in to replace the Dutch defender when it seemed like he was holding his left calf.

Pep Guardiola will be concerned by Ake's setback since he has relied largely on the adaptable defender in the second part of the season.

With such a short time between games and what seemed to be a muscle problem for Ake, the Spanish coach may now be compelled to reconsider.

After missing three games due to a hamstring injury, the 28-year-old only made his midweek comeback against West Ham.

City prevailed in all three of the matches Ake was unable to attend, including their important matchup with Arsenal and their FA Cup semifinal victory against Sheffield United.
