Newcastle has earned a spot in the Champions League for the next year.
This follows their Premier League 0-0 draw with Leicester City on Monday evening.

When the Magpies last made the UCL, Alan Shearer served as captain.

Newcastle's home fans hailed the 0-0 draw with Leicester as a victory since it guaranteed them a spot in the Champions League for the following year.

In the first half, Wilson and Almiron each struck the post twice for the Magpies, while Guimaraes hit it again in the second half. The Magpies controlled the game for virtually the whole time.

Iversen of Leicester City was the goalie who saw the most action, making excellent save on Isak and Longstaff.

While Castagne was denied a goal that would have placed Leicester's Premier League destiny back in their own hands going into the final day, Newcastle goaltender Nick Pope was forced into action for the first time in the waning minutes.

With only one point, Leicester's survival now hinges on Everton losing at home to Bournemouth and the Foxes defeating West Ham United on Sunday, the last day of the Premier League.

On the other hand, Newcastle can relax—at least metaphorically—when they go to Chelsea since they have nothing to lose except their dignity and, maybe, third place if Manchester United loses enough games in their last two.
