"We are very happy here" - Thiago Silva's wife insists the defender is staying at Chelsea

Thiago Silva's wife has denied claims that the Brazilian midfielder is set to quit Chelsea this summer.

The 38-year-old center defender joined the team in 2020 on a free transfer, and despite his advanced age, he has made 115 appearances for the team.

In the 2020–21 season, Silva helped the Blues win the Champions League, and he has often led the team when Cesar Azpilicueta wasn't available.

Additionally, despite Saturday's depressing 2-2 tie with Nottingham Forest, he has been one of the few first team players to get any recognition throughout Chelsea's wretched season, which has left them wallowing in 11th place.

Silva sent a mysterious message to fans on Instagram after the game, casting doubt on his future despite having just signed a new one-year contract in February.

The couple's wife, Belle Silva, released a video on social media in which she insisted that Silva will complete the remaining year of his contract with the team. Belle Silva hasn't been shy about sharing her anger and thoughts about Chelsea's miserable season.

She added: 'I wanted to thank everyone. Every person who came to me for a hug, for a song outside the stadium. Thanks so much. 

'We, my family, my husband, children and me are very happy here in London, in Chelsea.

'So my family and I are blue and we are Chelsea and we are staying. Go Blues.'
