On Friday, officers of the Adamawa State Police Command said that they had detained five youngsters in the Yola North Local Government who specialize in breaking into people's homes and businesses and stealing important stuff.
On Friday, the command said that during the inquiry, it also found a sewing machine, a generator, clothing supplies, and a cutlass on the suspects.
This was announced by the command via a tweet from the command's account.
The statement said, “The Command on 20/6/2023, disconnected the criminal network of Shilla gangsterism, connecting part of Kala'a Street, Doubleli, Chinko, Godobawa, Limawa all in Yola North Local Government. The suspected Shila boys specialise in Burgling and stealing valuable items from peoples' shops/ houses within the State Capital, attacking and Robbing innocent people of their Belongings.
“The outcome of this commitment designed by the command to ensure public order, safety, and security in the State, led to the arrest of these suspects from Various places including:- (i) Yusuf Bashir, 18 years, Resident of Kala'a Street (ii) Isa Muhammed, 20 years, Ajiya Street. (iii) Ayo Morofade, 18 years, Angwan Tana. (iv) Shuaibu Sudais, 13 years, Resident of Rumnde (V) Muhammed Hassan, 20 years.”
