Paolo Maldini has left Milan, the club has announced, despite rumors that owner Gerry Cardinale fired him.
Maldini, a legend, played with the Rossoneri throughout his entire professional career until joining as their director in 2018.
His right-hand man Frederic Massara, who joined the club in the summer of 2019 after working at Palermo and Roma before, is likewise uncertain about his job.
The issues came up during a meeting on a Monday morning to talk about the season's strategy and preparation.
Because of how poorly it went, there were instant rumors that Cardinale and Maldini's marriage was irreparably damaged.
