William Saliba, an Arsenal defender, is approaching an agreement of his deal, and Fabrizio Romano has provided an update.
After spending 18 months out on loan, first at Nice and later at Marseille, the 21-year-old Frenchman return to the Emirates. He was one of the top performers in the Premier League last season and quickly earned a starting position for Mikel Arteta's team.
Romano reported on Twitter that new contract negotiations will take place between the two sides today, which is good news for Arsenal who are eager to lock down Saliba.
The Frenchman, 22, was outstanding for the Gunners from the first match of the season until he was hurt in March's match against Sporting Lisbon.
He tweeted: “Understand Arsenal are advancing in talks to extend William Saliba’s contract. New round of talks has been scheduled and will take place in the next hours.
“All parties are confident to reach an agreement. Not done yet but getting closer.”
