Chelsea handed boost after Arsenal withdrew their bid to sign Moises Caicedo

Due to the financial commitment necessary to acquire Moises Caicedo, Arsenal withdrew from the signing process.

This makes it possible for the Brighton midfielder to go to Chelsea.

When the Gunners attempted to sign Caicedo in January, the Seagulls turned down a club-record offer.

Caicedo's transfer request was turned down, but manager Roberto De Zerbi immediately reintegrated him. The 21-year-old did accept that if Brighton received a good offer, he would be permitted to depart in the summer.

Teradeportes said that Caicedo was eager to relocate to the Emirates and that personal arrangements had already been negotiated in his home Ecuador.

Arsenal is said to have been hesitant to engage in a bidding battle with Chelsea because Brighton wanted over £80 million for a player with just 18 months of Premier League experience.

Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham, will be the target of a major amount of Arsenal's summer spending.
