Nottingham Forest has terminated Jesse Lingard's contract.
Less than a year after becoming the club's highest-paid player, Nottingham Forest has dismissed the formerly Manchester United striker.

If you remember, Lingard left Manchester United last summer and joined Forest on a 12-month agreement as one of 30 new players in 2022–23.

But this season at the City Ground, Lingard has not made the required impression.

The 30-year-old failed to score or provide an assist in any of his 17 Premier League games for Forest, while getting a basic wage of £115,000 per week plus bonuses.

Lingard had some injury concerns at the conclusion of the season, keeping him out as the team clinched Premier League survival. Lingard got two goals and two assists as Forest advanced to the League Cup semi-final.

Nottingham Forest reportedly released many other players in addition to Lingard.

Also dismissed are Andre Ayew, Cafu, Jack Colback, Jordan Smith, and Lyle Taylor. Meanwhile, Keylor Navas, Dean Henderson, and Renan Lodi have returned to their home clubs after the conclusion of their loan stints.
