In advance of the nation's general elections, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan met with the Inspector-General of Police and other stakeholders in Sierra Leone, which drew criticism from his supporters and admirers.
Jonathan announced his engagement on his verified Facebook profile. Jonathan is a member of the West Africa Elders Forum (WAEF) Election Mission to Sierra Leone.
He stressed the importance of security personnel in guaranteeing fair elections and highlighted attending a briefing for Heads of Mission to share their impressions on the results.
In determining the level of readiness for the approaching elections, the meeting in Sierra Leone with the Inspector-General of Police and the National Security Coordinator was considered crucial.
The commitment of Goodluck Jonathan and the WAEF team to following and watching the election processes in Sierra Leone is further shown by their participation in briefing meetings with Heads of Mission.
