According to head coach Christophe Galtier, Lionel Messi will depart Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the current campaign.
Messi, who left Barcelona in 2021 to join the French team, has been linked with a transfer to Saudi Arabia, while rumors of a return to the Nou Camp have gained steam in recent weeks in Spain.

Christophe Galtier, the head coach of PSG, expects Lionel Messi will have a good send-off in his farewell match.

The 35-year-old striker will play in his farewell game for PSG this season on Saturday against Clermont Foot.

Messi has contributed to 21 goals and 20 assists for PSG this season across all competitions, but his relationship with the club's supporters has deteriorated as the Argentina captain was treated to jeers as the French team once again came short of winning the Champions League.

The option to extend his first two-year contract by an additional year, which would have been worth £25 million annually after taxes and bonuses, has been withdrawn.

Messi spent the previous two seasons at PSG after Barcelona released him on a free transfer since they were unable to extend his contract. Messi scored 672 goals in 778 games for Barca between 2003 and 2021.
