Following triumphs in their respective zonal elimination playoffs on Friday at the Eket Township Stadium in Akwa Ibom State, Lobi Stars and Remo Stars are the first two clubs to seal their spots in the off-season football championship, Naija Super 8.

Remo defeated 3SC by a score of 3-0 to claim the largest win of the eliminations so far. Lobi Stars defeated City FC of the Nigeria National League 4-3 on penalties after a dramatic regular time finished at 2-2.

City FC battled against the NPFL team valiantly and recovered from behind to win 2-1 in the second half, despite trailing by one goal at halftime due to an unlucky own goal by their captain. However, Jospeh Atule rescued the Makurdi team's face with a late equalizer to force a penalty shootout.

Goalkeeper Mustapha Aliko saved two penalties to help the squad win the shootout 4-3 despite Atule missing the fourth penalty attempt for Lobi during the shootout.

Andy Okpe, Boniface Nwaeze, and Samuel Anaekwe scored goals as Daniel Ogunmodede's team defeated their opponents from Ibadan 3-0 in the southwest playoff match between Remo Stars and 3SC.

Okpe and Nwaeze gave the Sky Blue Stars a comfortable 2-0 lead after only 11 minutes, and Anaekwe scored a third goal midway in the second half.

The main tournament, which will take place in Lagos between July 7 and July 16, will now be hosted in the Mobolaji Johnson Arena while Remo Stars and Lobi Stars wait for more competitors.

Today in Eket, the zonal eliminations continue with a match between Yobe Desert Stars and Gombe United in the northeast and a match between Enyimba and Heartland in the southeast.
