The 24-year-old defeated opponents including Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City, Mo Salah of Liverpool, and Yassine Bounou of Seville to win the award.
The Napoli striker expressed his gratitude to all of his supporters and the event's organizer in a tweeted video that was posted online. He also pledged to keep representing the continent with pride.

Osimhen scored 26 goals in Serie A as he led Napoli to their first Scudetto championship in 33 years.
He became the first African player to be awarded the Paolo Rossi Award, which was given to the outstanding striker in Italy's premier division.
