Prior to their 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup opening match against Italy at Eden Park on Monday morning, Argentina's national team captain, Vanina Correa, customized a family's pair of shin protectors.
The South Americans were denied their first victory at the world soccer championship, however, as Cristiana Girelli's header in the 87th minute handed Italy a 1-0 victory against Vanina Correa and her Argentine comrades in their FIFA Women's World Cup tournament opening at the Eden Park on Monday morning.
